This month we are proud and delighted to announce that West Papua has made history by being awarded observer status to the Melanesian Spearhead Group.
This ground breaking news comes after months of hard work by the United Liberation Movement for West Papua (ULMWP), backed up by thousands of demonstrators across Papua. Subject to hundreds of arrests and in some cases torture, they have been supported by a mass movement across Melanesia and the rest of the world.
